Academy Report Card

While Nashville SC and Huntsville City are in the midst of preseason, the academy teams have already begun league play. The season, as far as the standings are concerned, began quite some time ago, but to make it simpler for everyone to follow, we’re going to focus our attention solely on what the various academy teams have done since the beginning of 2023.

The first three weeks of the year came and went, and it wasn’t until January 21st that play resumed for The Gold Mine, with the U13, U14, U15, and U17 teams all played on the road in Hoover, Alabama against Hoover-Vestavia Soccer, a youth development club based in, obviously, Hoover.

It was a clean sweep for Nashville, with only the U15s being scored on, en route to a combined 9-1 scoreline against the club from Alabama. In addition, the following morning, the U14s were back in action at home against Lanier Soccer Academy, a youth development club based in Gainesville Georgia. It wasn’t even a contest, as the U14s rolled to a 6-0 win, taking The Gold Mine to a combined 5-0-0 in 2023, with a +14 goal differential.

Next up is another full academy road trip, this time to Holly Springs, North Carolina, where all four academy teams will take on Wake Futbol Club, before the big one.

As we mentioned on twitter Friday, Nashville SC gets its first full academy home day at Currey-Ingram Academy on February 11th, against MLS rivals Atlanta United. We at Soundwave Soccer encourage any and all Nashville SC fans who can make it out to come support the academy teams, as not only will it be good practice for our return to GEODIS Park two weeks later, it would likely mean a whole lot to the academy players.

There’s two games at 1:00PM CST, with the U13s playing on Grass Field 2, and the U17s on the turf field. Afterwards, at 3:00, the U14s take to Grass Field 2 and the U15s get their turn on turf.

Take a group of friends, split yourselves between the games, and show your support for the future of our club.

The following Saturday on the 18th, the U13s and U14s are at home against Chapel Hill, North Carolina’s Triangle United at 10AM and 12PM respectively, followed by a full academy home day on Sunday the 19th against Marietta, Georgia based Southern Soccer Academy.

That wraps up the academy action through the end of February, we’ll keep you updated on results and future fixtures as they come!

Please provide accurate info. Sipic was not rostered in 11-0 win. Goal scorers were Sam Byron(3) Dominic Wilson(3) Alejandro Velasquez Lopez (3) and Cannon Scretchen (2).

Your blog seems to be only concerned about focusing on a few people and not the academy as a whole.
